MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

THIS DAY. [Before T. W". Parker, Esq., E.M.] PROTECTION ORDER. Arm de France, wife of George de France, of Kakanui Mouth, sought a protection order under the provisions of the " Married Women's Property Protection Act," on the ground of cruelty. Complainant also stated that her husband was an habitual drunkard. Mr. Hislop appeared for defendant, and consented to the order being made, although he stated that his client did not altogether admit the charges. Mr. O'Meagher, who appeared for the plaintiff, said that as that was the case it would be better to have some evidence on the matter. He called Ann de France, the complainant, who stated that the statements in the declaration were true. The prder was granted. Civil Cases. Dansey and Another v. Jones.— Claim, £3 15s. Judgment for plaintiff witn cost 3, in all £4 4s. Pearce (as Trustee in M'Ghie's Estate) v. W. Smith. —Claim, £3 9s. 6d.—Judgment for plaintiff.
