The experiences of Major Steward, as described t.o the auditinciif were certainly very astounding. Kamls of alt descriptions had passed over his face —large hands, smalt hands, cold hands, hot hands ; iu fuet, (jtiite a varitsy P*2 hands—and musieat instruiuents were moving about the cabinet in a most astounding manner, emitting sounds alt the time; a letter had been taken from his .clit-f, ;n-'' his watch was hanging from t.l; 0 „( ii,. ~';ard when the doors were „f,j. \■ ! .'nber of other mysterious 'a,9 wen ' - " performed— musical iur«i;'■ :iN i :t.:, played, and hands being ■ y.-n t.o th.< .o'lietitte through the aperi- it of the cabinet. Pavies, with his marionettes, Tom and doe, assisted by " Mary .Tones," and a tot of other invisible people, but who, nevertheless, proved very loquacious. This is certainly a very amusing portion of the performance, and the Professor informed the audience that j;lie feat of singing a verse of a song with $ f;lu>rus (ostensibly performed by Joe) was one that had newr fctsef* {vttep»|)t«:d by any other ventriloquist in the Worht. The dark sianee performance of Professor t'ny concluded the entertainment, and we are sorry that our limited space compels us to give but a brief reisnm* of the proceedings. I'n ftssor Fay is tightly bound on one side of a table, and on« of the hrothtis on the other. Measures are fcalten to make sure that neither of them can relieve the msetves, and the lights are put out. While the halt is iu darkness music und noises are heard on the stage, and a tambourine and bunjo, which have? been covered with pliospherous, are seen moving about the stage. Tie climax is reached wlun Professor Fay's coat tties otf his back into the middle; of the audience. At. this juncture,, the room is suddenly JifMeel tip,, and the Professor t'ontut tw !)«? g&Mkt hound- in exactly the same position as last. seen. The tights were again put out, and Major Steward's coat, which had been exchanged by that gentleman for t the Professor's, is found, when the room is again lighted up, to be on the back of the Professor. No possible idea can be formed as to how the feats are performed, and everyone leaves the halt in a state of wonder. As the season only lasts for two- nights longer, we won let recommend our readers to lose no time- in paying a visit to the combination.
