All hospital scandal seems to have arisen at Maldon ("S'ictoria). The Torran-rjox-rr Tir.i'* says that an c»ld soldier was taken into the hospital there, and after having bren attended to temporarily by tlie superintendent, was left alone hy the mcrlical ofticer. Dr. Byrn. from Tuesday to Friday. Tho poor fellow tried to hobble t<> his home, disgusted with the d->ei'>r"s treatment and the food provided, but fell dead l>y the roadside. The Times remarks :— 1: 2S~o inquest is hehl, and why not I The police do not think it necessary. as Dr. Bym certified that the deceased died from autopsy of the heart." A searching investigation is asked for.
