Mary Maguire journeyed from Ireland six years ago, and settled in Bayonne, J., with her son John. He died, and she was sent to the Snake Hill Almshouse. Some time since she returned to Boyonne, and begged for money to send her to reland, where she could die surrounded by her friends. She was over seventy years old. Chief of Police Witney procured her the passage-money, and on Wednesday, 25th October, visited the residence of a friend where the old lady was living. She could hardly restrain her joy when told that he was to conduct her to the steamship. After she had bade farewell to her hostess, and was on the threshhold of the door, she tittered a slight scream and fell to the ftoor. She nied before medical assistance could be produced. Death, the physician said, was from excessive joy.
