THE FLOODS.
The Guardian states that the loss in the Taieri Plain alone will amount to fully £50,000, the individual losses ranging from £5,000 on Mr. Shand's case, to £I,OOO in others. The Meadow Bank estates' losses are estimated at £3,000. On some of the farms, the water was ten feet-deep, and all the mischief was. caused through the river embankment having given way.
