[FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] Dpnedin, Thursday. COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS. The Commissioner of Customs proceeds to Wellington for a month. DUNEDIN HOSPITAL Narcus Hume has resigned hi 3 position as House Steward of the Dunedin Hospital. DUNEDIN POLICE COURT. Mr. Watt, R.M., has been appointed to preside over the Police Court. CIVIL SESSIONS. There are eight Common and five Special Jury civil cases set down for trial at the January Sessions. DISTRESSING ACCIDENT. ♦ Just as we were going to press we heard of a melancholy accident which happened to a s >n of .Mr. W . 11. Dansey, of Thaim-s-.tCivet. From what we could learn of the occurrence it appears that a runaway horse and trap knocked the poor little fellow down, and the wheel passing over his neck, dislocated it. We could riot ascertain for certain if the p«*>r little fellow was dead, hut we were informed lie was not expected to live-many minutes.
