MAGISTRATE'S COURT

THIS DAY, [Before T. W. Parrkr, Esq., R.M.] DRUNK AND> DISORDERLY. Robert Wiutmyer, arrested on Saturday for drunkenness in Thames-street, bailed out on Sunday, was cautioned and discharged. NEGLIGENT DRIVING. Hector Lindsay, of Papakaio Plains, was charged with unlawfully driving a horse and buggy negligently through Thames-street, contrary to section 16, No. 11., of the Corporation Bye-laws. Constable Moroney gave evidence that defendant was driving a buggy through the town in a. very careless manner—evidently j having no control over the animal—wbieh resulted in the capsize of the Accused had nothing to say, and a fine of 30s. was inflicted, and costs. BREACHES OF THE ORDINANCE. Michael M'Alhanny, Robert Smart, and James May were eacli complained against by the Inspector of Nuisances for allowing their cows to be at large within the limits of the town, and the Bench inflicted a fine of ss. in each case. BREACH OF THE LICENSING ORDINANCE. In the case of Jeremiah Kenny, charged with exposing liquor for sale in an unlicensed house, the Court was not prepared to give judgment,*which was deferred until Thursday.
