Mix a tablesp'oonful of the extract with half a tumblerof cold water, and keep a clotn constantly wet with the lotion thus macle applied to the part affected for several hours. Pains in the Side, Back, &c. The same lotion can be applied; but the better- way is to use the extract as a Liniment, rubbing it thoroughly with the hand or a piece of coarse flannel.
