[pee. press agency.] ♦ JT^Z Christchukch, Saturday. ROBERTS DEFEATED. The billiard match was won by Weston by 173 points, the Champion's best breaks being 105 and 94 ; Weston's two were 48 each. To-night Roberts gives Weston 250 in 500, and a local amateur 350 in the same number.
THE ALL-ENGLAND ELEVEN. Mr. Bennett, agent for the All-England Eleven, yesterday visited the Cricket Ground, and expressed himself satisfied. After playing the Australian team, it is proposed to arrive at Dunedin in January. MB. PYKE IN EXPLANATION. Mr. Pyke, replying to the vote of censure passed on him by the Alexandra and Bald Hill Flat portions of his constituency, points out that these districts endeavored to reject him. He denies that he violated his election pledges.
