Union with the North. Island ; but seeing that a very large majority protested against the resolution, it eventually decided that it was inadvisable in the present temper of the Synod to proceed with tHe proposed union.;- ? r- *-"■'■ ROBERTS VICTORIOUS. played Weston last night, giving him 500 out of 1,000. Both men played splendidly ■;;■■' Roberts eventually winning by 54 points. The hall was crowded. Roberts', largest :■ breaks were 135 and 120; Weston's, 53 and 41. Rpberts commences a newseasonto-night, at'reduced prices. This evening Roberts again meets Westonon same tenps, ''_■.'.".,.
