DASTARDLY ACTION.

A'person named John Morrison, plas'terer, was arrested yesterday evening on a charge of pouring kerosene oil over the head of a woman, Isabella Campbell, alias Johnston, with whom he has for some time past been cohabiting. It appears that the latter ran out of the house in which the affair occurred into the street, and when she was first seen by the neighbours who extinguished the fire, the upper part of the body was fearfully burned. Dr. Fleming was quickly in attendance, and he at once ordered the woman to be taken to the Hospital.—John Morrison was brought up at the Magistrate's Court this morning, and remanded till Thursday next.
