LONDON SAVAGES.
A shocking occurrence, resulting in tl death of a boy fourteen years of age, to place in London. The poor lad had te employed in the stationery manufacte of Messrs. De La Rue!/ and being late fa his duties, he had to wait for afa minutes outside the premises. The 1»! of the steam printing office oppose being out for their breakfast, the youifl portion of them commenced sneering* the poor lad, and provoking him to restf This producing no effect, thej r gathers ai-ouiid him and demanded from B pocket money (two-pence) and. his dins bread and meat. He refused to defe up possession. Upon which the enit band of young ruffians gathered arora him ; and whilst some cut him in varies parts of the body with their pocket-kniva others caught up portions of bricks as threw them at his head. He fell inse sible on the ground. His cowardly assai ants made off. Some people went to k assistance, and sent for a medical ntf who pronounced the case • a most da: gerous one, and ordered his removal t the hospital, but he died before the hs pital was reached. A strong force i police proceeded to the scene of the occffi rence, and captured some dozen of tb young ruffians, several of whom have i*j formed against the principals. The n* dered boy was the sole support of ta widowed mother.
