There was a perfect gale blowing Friday night. Several houses were roofed and fences thrown down.

FIRE. A house attached to Reid and Graj Foundry, caught fire this morning, fj was soon extinguished.

SUICIDE. Robert Roberts, horse-dealer, c« mitted suicide yesterday.

FIRE AT PORT CHALMERS. A dwelling-house at Port Chalme owned by James Dow, was burned do' last night. The house was only complei' three months since, at a cost of £2OO, a was uninsured. With the loss of fun ture, clothes, and bedding, Dow estima* his loss at £4OO. The origin of the fire unknown. THE SHIP NELSON. Messrs. Cargill and Gibbs have recetf a cablegram announcing the arrival, London, of the ship Nelson, seventy-eif days from Port Chalmers.
