MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

The election of candidates for Severn and Thames Wards took place to-day, as also the election of two Auditors. The contest was really confined to Severn Ward, as Mr. Kennedy retired in favor of Joseph Booth for Thames Ward. For Severn Ward, Messrs. James Bee and James M'Nab appeared to be the two most likely candidates, though of course it is impossible to say till after the " numbers are up." For the auditors, Messrs. Church and Martin, had slightly the call in the betting. There was very little interest displayed in the election —in fact, a stranger coming into town would scarcely know that a Municipal contest was taking place. We are unable in the present issue to give the result of the poll, owing to the late hour at which the declaration will be made.
