A soldier of the 22nd Regiment recently lagged behind hi 3 comrades at a review in India, and shot three natives, one after the other. Of course the culprit was arrested, and on being interrogated as to the motives which impelled him to the crime, he stated that he had taken a great dislike to natives after passing through Cawnpore, and seeing the memorial over the well where so many of his countrymen and countrywomen fell victims. Since that he had determined to revenge them.
