The Princess Louise is an exhibitor at the Royal Academy this year. Miss Thompson, of "Roll-call" fame, has received a commission to paint a portrait of Dr. Newman, of Birmingham. The Board of Trade have restored the certificates of Captain Eton and officers of the Strathclyde, accompanied by an expression of approval of their conduct on the occasion of the collision between the Franconia and their vessel. The hearing of the action brought by the owners of the Strathclyde against those of the Franconia, to recover £45,000, is concluded, and the Admiralty Court have given judgment in favour of the Strathclyde. The Board of Trade inquiry into the loss of the immigrant ship Strathmore, wrecked on the Crozet Islands last July, is. now in progress at Greenwich. - '
