THE AFFRAY AT THE KUROW.
In our issue of Saturday last we briefly alluded to a fight which took place at the Kurow, on Thursday, and we are now i enabled to furnish our readers with tho ! following additional particulars :—A man i named Nolan, called at the. house of 1 William Caine, a ferryman, situate! about two miles distant from the Kurow ? Hotel, and requested that he might be ' accommodated with a bed for the night. « Mr. Caine informed him that he had no accommodation, and advised him to go to Mr. Hille's hotel. Nolan then went out-' side, and got possession of a broom handle, and returned to the house, and Caine observing this, took up a pick handle, after which a regular fight ensued. Nolan" received several nasty wounds in the affray, and was afterwards conveyed to a neighbouring hotel, where he received every attention.
Sub-Inspector M'Cluskey, on hearing of the occurrence, at once despatched Constable Grant to investigate the affair, and we learn that Nolan has made a statement which exonerates Caine from all blame. Dr. Fleming left town to attend the injured man, and we understand that lie is progressing favourably, although he has been very severely handled.
