Mr. Pope, late English master of the Girls' High School, has been presented by his late pupils with a purse of forty sovereigns, prior to his departure to accept the appointment of Principal of the Ballarat College. IMMIGRANTS r FOR NEW ZEALAND. Only 5,000 immigrants are to be despatched for New Zealand during the present year. Canterbury and Otago will get each.
