TWO PLUGS FOR A LOCAL.
TO THE EDITOR 0? THE EVENING HAIL. Sir, —ln reference'to a local inserted by you in yesterday's issue, in which you seem indignant at an offer of two plugs of tobacco for the insertion of a local, I am .sorry, indeed, to see that such an offer should be treated with such contempt at your hands. Should you prefer a small sample of ,"-Hibernian Snuff," I shall be only too happy to supply it instead of Barrett's Twist, as I can guarantee it to be a good sneezer, and a thorough renovator for cloudy brains. In the meantime, should-you pay a visit to
the "Free Reading Room," you willbecourteously entertained, and no pains will be spared to elevate your mind and strengthen your delicate conscience.—l am, &c, Patrick Riordan. '<-jf.B.—The insertion of the above letter will greatly oblige. It concludes my correspondence with the Press for the present; but should trade hold good, as it now is, I shall sobnbe getting another shipment of tobaccoes, when I expect to arrange for advertisements more amicably than was done on the occasion you refer to.
