ANOTHER FATAL ACCIDENT.
We regret to record the death of Mary Ann Stone, a child aged six and a-half years, which occurred at the Hospital this morning at 9.20. The parents of the child reside at Reidston, and it appears that she and another were playing together on the' racecourse, during the earlier part of yesterday afternoon. A fire had been lighted on the site of the refreshment booth at the late meeting, for the purpose of burning a lot of rubbish that was lying about, and the two children advanced towards it and commenced to throw a lot of loose straw thereon. In so doing the clothes of Mary Ann Stone caught fire, and the other child, who is only thirteen months old, attempted to extinguish the iiaines, but the efforts of the little one unfortunately, proved unsuccessful, as every particle of the deceased's clothing was burnt, and she. ran in a state of perfect nudity to the Medora Hotel, where the pocr girl received every care and attention. She was conveyed at once to the Hospital, and attended by Dr. Wait, but we regret to say the unfortunate child expired at 9.20 this morning.
