An application was inado, and a writ of habeas corpus granted, to bring up Sullivan, the New Zealand murderer, who is applying for his discharge from custody. ♦ THE STRATHMORE SURVIVORS. Adelaide, Thursday. Eight of tlie Stratliinore's survivors are aboard the mail steamer, bound to Now Zealand. Two returned to England, and one is employed in Ceylon.

1 CAUGHT A TARTAR. > On the Bt!i February the English trading vessel Amelia White, of Gibraltar, seized by the Guarda Costa, and a prize-crew put on board. The crew of the Amelia, however, overpowered their capturers, and carried them prisoners to Gibraltar, whore they have been committed for trial on a charge of piracy. The Spanisli Foreign Minister has demanded satisfaction from our Government. Several great jewel robberies have lately been committed at noblemen's houses in the suburbs of London. The Assembly lias verbally decided to confine the Government banking operations to the Bank of New South Wales. A NEW SHIPPING COMPANY. At a meeting held at Melbourne a resolution was passed affirming the desirability of establishing an Australian and New Zealand Shipping Company. THE STEVENSON CASE The Cus'om authorities are carrying out their threat of opening and examining Stevenson's goods.
