ERIN'S FORTUNE WILL BE HARD
1 BIG HEAT AT FORBURY i ■ -. ' * ■■■■ ■ • Sunny Bob and Steel All Will Be In Limelight PROSPECTS OF EVEN CONTEST (Prom " N.Z. Truth "s ' * South Island Trotting Representative ■) : The big race at Forbury next Saturday, the President's Handicap, has drawn a high-class field, and should be a good contest. While pointed attention will be accorded Sunny Bob,' 4.28, and | Steel All, 4.26 1/5, there is no reason to regard either of these as certainties.
AS a matter of fact, a close analysis of the handicaps and recent form inclines "Truth's" rep. to Erin'e Fortune. This mare has been oh a 4.30 mark m her recent engagements, and from this mark m the Courtney Handicap at the Cup meeting she was slow away, ■ covered a lot of extra ground, was not ! going quite correctly, yet she was m the firing line for at .least some of the 1 minor money when she broke and fell i m the straight. ! This race was won by Harold
Logan m very fast time, and if Erin's Fortune could put up so creditable a showing under such circumstances! her chance must be respected now that she has been let out to a 4.31 mark. There is not one hoi;se m the race that could .be counted out altogether, and Wrackeen, Arikitoa, Great Logan, Grand Light and Avenger will all have some .friends, but if Erin's Fortune is ri,ght she will take. some beating. Erin's Fortune, Sunny Bob and Steel All are a good trio to follow.
