"Yes," replied the other, "I've smoked many brands m many lands, but have found nothing to equal this -in all my travels." "What is it?" asked his companion curiously. "New Zealand toasted Navy Cut," was the reply. "Why toasted?" was the next question. "Because toasting cuts out the nicotine, my boy, and makes the leaf absolutely safe to smoke. Gives it its fine flavor, too, and its delicious aroma. American brands are too full of nicotine. Bound to affect heart or nerves, sooner or later. New Zealand toasted won't. There are only four brands manufactured — Riverhead Gold, Navy Cut No. 3, Cavendish and Cut Plug No. 10." The other chap pencilled a note on his shirt-cuff. "Me for toasted New Zealand Navy Cut," he laughed. "Don't forget to ask for toasted," counselled his friend, "and keep your eye skinned for imitations. Every good thing is imitated, you know.!"*.
