Lawrence Tibbett as a baritone needs no introduction to music lovers. His voice is admirably suited to these two numbers. *. # * "The Rajah of Bhong." "Peace, Peace," "Try Again, Johnnie," "Yo Ho. Little Girls, Yo Ho" (Columbia DOX 51). These are well remembered selections from "The Country Girl." The Columbia Light Opera Company has made an excellent job of these musical excerpts. Part 2 includes "Coo," "Under the Deodar," "Two Little Chicks," and excerpts' from the finale. # # # '.'Hail de Crown" and Exhortation (H.M.V. 83409). Quite one of the best Paul Robeson has yet made. His bass is as full and as richly interpretative as ever. ' # * * '.Mikado" (Regal G30029). The Regal Light Opera Company here gives us a chain of gems from this; Gilbert and Sullivan masterpiece. #, * # "The Village Blacksmith" and "Anchored" (H.M.V. 1816).
