TALK OF CUP

North Affair Now In Air (From "N.Z. Truth's" North Island 1 Trotting Rep.) J'HERE is more than a little chatter up north about the Auckland Cup. The doings of Harold Logan at Addington have caused the big northern affair to be discussed much earlier than usual, for it does not come up for competition until near the end of December. However, considering that Harold Logan, at .Addington, went a shade worse than 4.22, and cannot be handicapped tighter than 4.25, provided he does nothing m the interim, from 36 yds. m the Cup they ask what chance is his? ' Admittedly on the face of it the Logan Pointer fellow may emulate Harry on the ice and skate at Epsom, but a lot of things can happen m five weeks. For instance there are others likely to improve, more so Mountain Dell and Great Peter, an Auckland pair. They are racing this week at Epsom and only need to do something above the ordinary to suggest that Harold Logan will not get as much publicity as he is getting at present. All Auckland was waiting for Sir Guy to come north. Was not accepted for first day, so they're casting eyes elsewhere.
