FOR THE FUTURE
Three Improvers Worth
Remembering
(From "N.Z. Truth's" South Island' Trotting Rep.) AMONG the improving pacers seen ?* out at the Cup meeting, three horses deserve special mention. Sir Author, Sir Guy and Sunny Bob, and all ' three hail from Ces. Donald's stable. Of course Sir Author should be good, being from the dam of that great performer Acron, but he has not been a very sound horse, and if he now stands up to his work we can expect him to improve even on his 4.29 4-5 and his 2.45 3-5, for he is a good racehorse. Sir Guy went 4.29 1-5 from a 4-39 mark for second, and came out the last day and won easily m 4.29 2-5, so can be reckoned as a horse with a I bright' future. ' Sunny Bob went 4.28 to win on the second day from a 4.35 peg, and al; though he had to be driven out to do it he impressed as a good, game fellow, likely to go on. Another horse to show improvement was Kotuku Jack, which went 2.44 2-5 and 2.44 m the tenfurlong events, and m both races he performed most generously. This well-bred fellow is likely to go on with the business now that he has struck form again, and he will keep them all busy over a journey later this season. Steel All appears to have struck another patch of form, and m both his starts was finishing on very fast from behind into second place. Erin's Lynn is vastly improved, and with an ounce of luck she would have won a race at the meeting. Her performance the second day m registering 4.29 4-5, and coming from a long way back over the last half was good. Provided she continues to race m the same generous manner she must get a stake soon.
