VELVET VOGUE

Hats Now Made On Head Velvet is enjoying an immense vogue as a hat trimming, and the city shop windows are full of smart models m felt and velour with an attractive finish of velvet of the same tone. THE trimming may be let into the crown m various designs, or it may be appliqued flatly on to the felt. This was the rule earlier m the season, but recent models show a much more lavish use of the velvet. . Felt and linen is another mixture which is threatened for next season's hats, and with them will be worn a linen scarf like a stock. . For sports wear there will be uncommon little hats of wool and straw ribbon, supple enough to crocket, and bright silk scarves will be their accompaniment. In the world's fashion centres it is the correct thing to have your hat made on your head. You get fitted for it just as you do for a dress, and it is quite as individual a possession. Soft pliable felts, velvets and ribbons can be easily draped and arranged, and some' of the most fashionable spring hats m Liondon look as if they have been tied around the head quite carelessly, and the ends left hanging down loose.
