Prince Pointer Retires

QNE.of the performances* that is cerV tain to linger m the .minds of patrons of light-harness racing is that of Prince Pointer when he nearly brought off ( a big surprise m the New Zealand" Trotting' Cup m 1926.- --' On a very short preparation,. Prince Pointer went out paying a very long price, and when the , starter said "Go," Prince Pointer shot to. the front and made every post a winning one. Bujb . over the last half-mile Ahuriri pulled out a terrific effort and beat Prince Pointer for first money. ' Since then Prince Pointer lias added to- his good achfevement, taking a record of 4.22 for two miles. He competed at the August meeting, but has now been retired to tlie stud.
