Whispers From Wanganui
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Wanganui Rep.) JUST AN IDEA jarred a shoulder recently, and as a result has been thrown put of work. ■■.# . * * W. H. Dwyer appears to have acted wisely m deciding to paddock train Zarene, as she is looking much improved and putting more dash into her work. She is engaged m the Spring Hack at Marton at 8.3, a stable-mate m Paratoo, 7.0,' also being m that event. t , ♦ * * Paratoo is m great heart, and he is being given work which should iit him for the Wanganui Guineas. The Grandcourt gelding will have to meet some good ones m that event, but if he should succeed m landing the classic race for the O'Neill Bros., it would be a very popular win. # ■ # # i Prior to going to Trentham, Arisus was shaping m very promising style, but the racing m soft going knocked him back. He is coming on again, and his track work suggests he will make good as a three-year-old. * * # Word comes from Bulls that Marjoram is .doing good work and is expected to run well m the Marton Handicap next week. ♦ *, * Tenterden is not likely to , run at Marton unless the going is fairly firm, m which case a race would do him good m view of his engagement m the Guineas .at Wanganui. He is hitting out well, but may not be seen at his best until a little later on. *. # * Owner Bill Duncan thinks that Limited will take a lot of beating m
the Railway Handicap at Marton next week, as he is said to be m good fettle. The pick of the lightweights appears to be Coon Song. . # * Toxeuma will have to do his very best to beat Ceremony m the N.Z. Eclipse Stakes. Cc r e - mony looks a picture, and the way
he is getting through his work suggests he will be as brilliant as ever this spring. * * * "Snow" Moroney has Cluney, Baskier and Tenterden engaged at Marton. The trio named are all fairly well forward. Baskier will go well m the Electric Hack if the conditions are to his liking.
