(By "The Toff.") TN a spirited , finish Harold Thorpe won the Addington Midsummer Handicap by half a length from Jean McElwyn with Lindbergh a similar distance away m ihird place. Harold Thorpe and Jean McElwyn enjoyed a good passage, and were patiently handled until within, half a furlong of home. At that stage of the contest, Lindbergh was m the lead, where Donald was hard at him. Berry then timed' his run with Jean McElwyn. She made a dash for the lead and got it, but Edwards then made a move on Harold Thorpe and m ' the rush for first money Harold Thorpe out-sprinted Jean McElwyn and got the thick end of the prize. . >' Neither would have beaten Lindbergh had he not put m a break at the start. Judged by the running Linkman and King Pointer should not be long m collecting a big stake; and when placed m a tighter class . Wrackler "will carry a fair measure of public support.
