THAT the drink had "got' 1 him" was said to be the honest admission of John Sullivan, aged 44 years, a onelegged returned soldier, who, after giving himself up to the police the previous night, stood m $he dock m the Dunedin Police Court charged with being an idle and disorderly person. ■ ,* Mr. White, secretary of the R.S.A., who happened to be m court, said that Sullivan, if he behaved himself, could be eligible for an economic pension of 30/- per week, which would bring his existing pension up to about £14 per month. Mr. H. W. Bundle, 5.M.,. remanded accused for a week, pending medical examination.
