WERE UNLUCKY
The Eastwood Brothers AtTakapuna • The Eastwood brothers will have anything but pleasant recollections of Takapuna. Xt the spring- meeting, Arthur experienced two falls m one day across the Waltemata Harbor, but fortunately he suffered no injury. . ; Cliff did not fare quite so well when he crashed to« Mother Earth while doing a preliminary on Cup day last week. He was riding Topstar just In behind Gray, on Sub-Editor, and m rounding the bottom bend going out of the straight was thrown heavily, and rendered unconscious. , Removed to hospital, he remained there during the second day's racing 1 . The trestle keeping horses out front the rails while doing their preliminaries was a~ bit close to the actual turning point m the. course, and thiflf had to be avoided. It had much to do with the- accident which befel East* wood. «iiniiii!iiiiiiiiiiiiiii!iiiitiiiiiiiiiiiiiriiniiiMmi!iiimiiiiiiii!ini!iiiiiiiiiiiii!iiimiit
