Carroll had Richards on the floor for the fourth time m the twelfth round when the police stopped the' fight. Richards fought well for several rounds, but Carroll was too fast for him m all departments. ' Richards was down for the first time m the third round, again m the eleventh and twice m the twelfth. At the finish Richards was well marked up with his left eye closed. . \ ' • ■ v. ■ The return match for the bantam title between Bill McAlister and Vie. White at the Leichhardt Stadium on Friday night had an unfortunate ending. ' ' ; White gave away half a stone and sustained a severe head bump during the twelfth round, had -his left eye gashed and was weak m; the concluding stages. . ; : White was down for eight seconds, and at the final bell lost on points and was m a bad way after the fight. White was removed to Lewisham Hospital, /where he will be for several days, though he is now out of danger.
