There is as-much difference between ,raw tobacco and toasted tobacco, as between raw potato arid savoury chips. It's not so much the material you use as the way m which you prepare it. Take, for instance, our finest N.Z. tobaccos. They are all toasted — hence their superiority. You need not be an expert to perceive the wonderful effect of the toasting process— flavour and aroma will tell you. Arid they may be indulged m ,tp any extent because the toasting eliminates the deleterious properties of- the leaf arid neutralises the poisonous nicotine, thus rendering the tobacco safe to smoke. And — don't forget that these tobaccos are the only toasted ones procurable. Thfere are various brands; "Riverhead Gold" (mild and mellow); "Cavendish" (the sportsman's smoke); "Navy Cut" (a choice medium) ; and ''Cut Plug* No. 10" (full strength). These oppular brands are exclusively manufactured by the . National Tobacco Co; Ltd., (pidneers of the N.Z. tobacco industry). They are on sale at all tobacconists and also at many grocers' shops and general stores.*
