Ah eloven-a-side debate rather than football seemed to be the idea when Thistle and V.M.C.A. met at i Bl'andford Park m the only senior 1 game staged m Auckland on s Saturday. . BOTH sides kicked the ball about, but 1 the exhibition was anything but 1 interesting. ( • Clanachan, for Y.M., scored a. ■•. goal which enabled his si.de to claim a vie- l t tor v. -.-With the exception of H. and N. Cummirigs and McGosh, for Thistle, and Glanachan, McAuslan , and the Chapmans for Y.M., no player stood out conspicuously at any time. ■;' Infinitely better football was played m the senior B competition, when c Bon Accord beat Philomel 3-0 and the i Corinthians secured a 4-1 victory over, c Tamaki. A - For Corinthians, Jones, Hilton, and i Austead scored, while Stone got Tamakl's I goal. \.A - J
