MIND CHANGED FOR HIM

Sydney Trip Cancelled In Favor V . Of Staying At Home (BJrom/'N.Z. Truth's" Special Christchurch Representative). ' ; When a New Zealand scribe got a story m an Australian paper headed "Aspiring Better Than Childsplay," Bill Stone got tHe stitch.

THE Australian handicappers don't want much on New Zealand horses as a rule to flop the grandstand on their backs, and this ' invitation to hit the filly to leg with another stone was rather unpalatable to Bill. "* Stone proposed ' taking Silver Paper and Aspiring across to Australia for the spring, but when he saw -the weights the handicappers had given the four-year-old he cooled off a bit. Both horses have been doing well lately and will probably race at'Ashburton and Dunedin. Aspiring has recovered from- the ail-

ment which sent her wrong last year. She will probably attempt to follow up the win of Silver Paper with another success for Stone m the Dunedin Guineas. ' The Tea'' Tray — Victory Bond filly, also m Stone's stable, is engaged m the McLean . Stakes, and m the juvenile parades at the Christchurch, Hunt and National meetings she was one of the smartest two-year-olds. Stone won both Guineas and McLean Stakes at Dunedin last October and looks, to have a good chance of' repeating the dose this spring. •
