MISS JOAN MORRIS, who has just returned from Europe with her parents, Captain and Mrs. Morris, of |Milford, is studying the teaching side |of<the dancing profession at the Auckland branch of the Margaret O'Connor School Of Dancing, and has already made several foows to the public as a demonstration dancer. • * * THE old Legislative Council Chamber housed a very bright and success-; ful affair last Friday, when the wives of our Cabinet Ministers Amade the popular Mrs. Bernard Wood their guest of honor. The large -number of guests included wives and relatives of M.P.'s, M;Li.C.'s and officials of the Upper and Lower Houses. Delightful decorations, a dainty tea and pleasant music added to the enjoyment of the afternoon. The spring flowers which gave forth their beauty from great big silver bowls — lent by Mrs. Wilford— came from the Mrs ir. G. Cobbe's garden !at Feilding. Hostesses, wearing the smartest of tailorings, received their many guests at the entrance. Mrs. T M. Wilford wore black satin beaute and black hat; Mrs. W. A.AVeitch Was m navy blue, with black hat; Mrs. E A. Ramson was m tabac brbwn crepe de 'chine ahd hat to tone; Mrs. G. W Forbes wore black mariette with biege embroideries and her smart black hal sported an osprey. Mrs. J. B. Donald hid a rather smarl black frock under a fur coat; Mrs Taverner chose black mariette, ecrt lace and a wide hat; Mrs. J. G. Cobhe was also m black, with black hat anc furs. Mrs. T^ K. Sidey wore blue with touches of gold and hat to match; Mrs. A. J. Stallworthy wat> m navy blue brightened with touches of red and hat to tone. The guest' of honor , N Mrs.. Bernard Wood, wore a gown of . ecru . lace ape canary-colored , hat. Those- present included Mrs. Baird, m black satm anc hat of dark red velvet; Mrs. Cecil Day m black; Mrs. J. G. Coates' m deej red mariette and hat to tone; Ladj Statham; Mrs. G. A.
