Harriers READY FOR DUNEDIN
Runners Will Have Field Day
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Wellington Rep.) After a couple of weeks of strenuous racing, things are now quiet along the . harrier battlefront. Hostilities will begin afresh at Wingatui, where the national race will be staged on Saturday. T'HE, Wellington team is much as was expected! Stevens, Silver, Shepherd and Barclay, backed by Francis and McCarthy, are a well-balanced combination.' . --.-... Otago looks like providing opposition of the keenest sort. ' Morris, Johnston, Tapp and Brown are a good four. Canterbury have a sound pair m Barnes and Park, but the others are not class enough for the field that will contest the race. ■;'.-.. .:. -J :. It Is doubtful whether Auckland will t be sending down a team,- although - , there will be individual runners from that city. Anyway, outside Savldan, Kells and-Cooper, . the northern town doesn't appear to have anyone of note. The individual title will go to Savidan. There is no one m sight capable, of beating him, unless he has slipped considerably. Stevens, Silver and Morris should battle it put <for second place. He would be a t game man to say how they will finish. Maybe Silver will run them into the ground. ._
