Town Rambler's
Poor Display
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) If size signified quality, then Town Rambler would be-a crack-a-jack steeplechaser. gUT m the case of the son of Archies- , . town dimensions are misleading if his Greenmount. Steeplechase exhibition at Pakuranga fixture can be taken as a guide, for he could not flnish m the money among a very moderate lot. He towered over the opposition, but his bulk appeared to trouble him when negotiating* the rise, and he finally made such an inglorious exhibition that he was withdrawn from the Pakuranga Hunt Cup Steeples later m the day. ■• . v —
He was giving out some hopes going down the back the last trip, but it was a short-lived effort and certainly not as becoming as those of , his trainer, Dufty, as a place-* kicker on the football- field.
. The old-time cry of "Give it to Dufly" certainly does not apply with the same confidence to Town Rambler when it comes' to expecting that giant to reap m the good things of the turf.
