FOOTWEAR becomes ever more complicated. An excellent guessing competition at any modern gathering would be: "What are YOUR shoes made of?"
The newest of the new materials for the fashioning of the smart shoe is tanned fish skin. The fish come from the Pacific, 250 metres below the sea level — which has something to do with the texture of the leather — IS' it leather?
Ostriches are now asked to contribute their quota to feminine loveliness, and it's not left to the supplying of feathers.
The poor bird, after being reduced to the nude for the decoration of the human female, must now supply his skin to make the smartest o f shoes for milady's feet.
