Youth's Nocturnal Joy-rides
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Wellington Eepresentative). IN the 'early hours of the morning, Albert Edward Foster, a youth of 19 years at the time employed by Adams Ltd., motor firm, used to take a motor-car and enjoy himself. . His n-cturnal joy rides were discovered, and Foster admitted, m the Wellington Police Court, two charges of converting motor-cars to his own use, and the theft of six gallons of pejrol. Foster had the keys to the garage 'without the knowledge of the firm, and because of his folly he had lost his position and his apprenticeship with his employer. In reply to Mr. J. S. Barton, S.M., Foster said he had no money and no prospects of getting another position. As it was not quite like the ordinary wrongful taking o.f a motorcar, the Magistrate was content to order Foster to come up for sentence , > if called upon within two years. Foster's application for the suppression of his name was refused.
