For The Cup Final

(From ''N.Z. Truth's" Nelson Rep.) A LARGER crowd turned out on Saturday to see the leading teams, Nelson and Pirates, play what ' was virtually the Cup final. Nelson won by twelve points to five. Nelson have yet to play Wakatu and Rivals, but these two teams are at the bottom of the competition. Thus it Is almost certain that Nelson will wind up one point In the lead of Pirates, who headed the championship table by a similar margin ' before Saturday's match. Practically all the play was confined to the forwards who gave a great exhibition of tight scrummaging. However,, as the spectators saw it, the game was very disappointing. Eric Snow turned out for Nelson, and without being outstanding, he was the best forward on the ground. His brother, Bert,, and Don. Max (Pirates) were the next best pair. Nelson did some looking about to get the best team possible, and brought Bob. Garvin out after two years' retirement. There were many slower ones than Garvin. The two full-backs, Morrison (Pirates) and McGinley (Nelson) came through a heavy day with flying colors. j iiiiiinmiiiiiiiiimiiiimiiiiiiitiiiiiiniiiiiiiiiimiiiimiiiiiiiiiiiniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiMi
