Cricket A New Scheme For New Season

(From "N.Z. Truth's" Christchurch Rep.) The Christchurch Cricket Association m its wisdom, has decided by a very small majority to revert to the district scheme of accepting entries for the senior championship for the coming season. "M Z. TRUTH", is assured that if *'* this decision is not revoked a most Gilbertian situation will arise m next year's competitions. N Instead of permitting clubs to retain their individual identities, to which a good deal of sentiment naturally attaches, players will m future have to play for the district m which they reside. Such clubs as High School Old Boys and Old Collegians (Christ College Old Boys) will perforce have to seek elsewhere for admission. Rather than abandon their combination and sink their identities, "Truth" learns that those clubs propose joining up with the City and Suburban Association and playing m what actually amounts to a senior B grade. If such a position does arise, it is abundantly obvious that the C. and S. competition will touch a higher standard of cricket than the association "district" .competition can ever hope to as they draw from High School and Christ's College where cricket is taught on sound coaching principles.,
