For the senior Cham plonshlp and the right to hold the MeKechnie Cup,- Excelsiors have been successful for the past two years, and they have now won a third time. For the past two years, they have only once been defeated, Blaketown beating them In the first game this season.
Excelsiors finished up the competition on Saturday by giving Stars (Greymouth) a trouncing. The score, 18 to nil, could quite easily have been greater, as Freltas, who can usually be depended on to carry the whole team on his baok, was allowed to go unmarked. -
' Blaketown met and drew with Kiwis (Hokitlka), on Saturday, 13 all, providing a most interesting game for spectators. McEnaney, Blaketown's captain, who can always be relied on to play a snappy game on the wing, has done well to get his team home as runners-up to the Excelsiors m the .competition, and can consider his team has done remarkably, well for its 'first season m senior Rugby.
