Whispers From Wanganui
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Wanganui Rep.) THE three youngsters owned by C. Elgar are coming along well under "Show" Moroney's care. They appear to have been all well done by, and if looks go for anything should do well. The Rosendale youngster is a particularly flne looking one, while the one by Chief Ruler shapes as if he is going to prove very speedy. • * ' • , '• Vertigern is healthy and bright, and he should be at the top of his form for the- Wellington spring meeting, if not, before then. # ■ * * Star Area, is striding out m good style, and the big son of Acre should play a prominent part m some of the big handicap events ■ early m the season. His performances last autumn make it look as if he would make a bold bid -m a race like the New Zealand Cup. * # * The Grandcourt colt, Paratoo, is making good progress m his studies, and he promises to win some money for the O'Neill Bros, when W. Dwyer has him ready for racing. ' * . # . '• ■ Zarene is not being asked to do much at present. She is to be kept for later on m the season. . " ■ ■ ■ • ■-*-- • M. Gardner has Royal Acre m gqod fettle, and he should be capable of running well at, the, Marton meeting, at which Potoaform and "Valma will also probably be 'seen out. >. Tilley will take three" or four horses to the Marton meeting, and will have several of his team engaged at Wanganui, including Laughing Prince,' Gle,nartney, Metellus and Thrift.
