AFTER LONG ENFORCED ABSENCE (From '-N.Z. Truth's" Melbourne Rep.) After over eight months' enforced absence from the saddle, Billy' Duncan made his reappearance as a hoop m the Crimea Trial Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday week. LIE certainly didn't waste any time ** getting into harness again, as this was the first race. that he was able to, ride m, as his new license 'only dated from the previous .^Thursday, and ; this was the first fla£ ; event run in 'the metropolitan ' area since then. He had ihe mount on Varquaddr, but although he was well m the market, Varqiiador was never really dangerous, and could only finish seventh. Duncan got a -good reception from the crowd m the members' enclosure.
