The vocal refrain m the "blue" number is unfortunately reminiscent of the ghetto. * * ■ *, ■;■-'• As a phonographic curio, Chaliapin's singing of "The Blind Ploughman" may m time, be valuable. Chaliapin is remarkable as a. Russian basso, but as a singer of English songs he is out: of his. element.
