Acted Foolishly

Truth's" Auckland Rep.) «JN addition to acting very foolishly, you also acted very deliberately' by scattering these cheques about the country after being warned by your bank that they would not be honored. "Furthermore, you went into the witness-box and told a story which I do not believe." Thus Mr, Justice Herdman, m the Auckland Supreme Court, to Frederick Alexander Brydon, when sentencing him to three months' hard labor on the first of three charges of issuing valueless -cheques. On the remaining two counts, ' Brydon was given two years' probation, restitution of the amounts fraudulently obtained to* be made and costs of the prosecution to be met. Twelve months was allowed f ol^ these repayments.
