Their Methods Wrong COMPARISONS (From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) When inquiries are held- at any meeting nothing m the way of information is handed on to the Press. ' CUCH evidence as conies before the stewards is seldom made public and only the findings of those- instituting proceedings are passed oii : «to the. public. In this respect it* is interesting to compare the information given to the Press at the Otahuhu meeting and the official statement forwarded on to the New Zealand Trotting Association. In dealing with the reversals of form shown by Mutu and Raima when they finished as named m ' the Alexandra Handicap the Press was informed that the explanations were accepted. That and nothing more was officially passed on. But m the report of the New Zealand Trotting Association .it stated that m the case of Mutu the stewards were not satisfied, but they gave the trotter the benefit of the doubt. On the face of thege two statements the public are entitled to some explanation, especially as it is they who keep the game "going.
