DERHAPS one of and onerous tasks undertaken by any man m the Public Service is that of Film Censor, a position now held by falter Alfred Tanner. , -A man who Is not hard to please and one with a wonderful philosophy of life, he * has his hands full, nevertheless, trying to please others. Even if a law unto himself, he exercises the great power he wields with delicate discrimination and no one intimately connected with the motion picture industry can cavil at his method, of censoring films. interest of the public m general. His is a broad and healthful outlook on life. > As a civil servant W. A. Tanner has had a varied career. He started m the Land and Income Tax Dept., later being transferred to the P. & T. Department. During the waV he acted as Postal Censor to that department. The secret of longevity Tanner knows to be a peaceful mind. He has attained, it m full measure, for he carries his fifty "odd years with the ease of a man twenty years his junior.
